The music video for Androp’s “Bright Siren” has been released.

This is a music video using 250 cameras. No CG was used at all—we actually lined up 250 cameras and controlled their strobe lights through programming.

The art direction was handled by the PARTY team, and I had the opportunity to work with Mr. Kawamura and Mr. Shimizu in what was an extremely exciting production. Despite the challenging aspects, I’m deeply grateful to have been involved in such an enjoyable project. I’m also thankful to the IMGSRC members I belong to, particularly Mr. Mori and Mr. Ishizuka, as well as the entire Powerspots team.

Due to the nature of many projects, there are often things I cannot publicly announce in places like this, but this time is a special case, and I’m posting for the first time in a while.

Mr. Mori, head of Powerspots, handled the hardware electronic circuit design. Mr. Ishizuka created the main program for the controller that performs serial communication in sync with the music video’s soundtrack, and I also assisted with programming the serial communication portion of that software. My main programming responsibility was the hardware programming section.

We started with a small prototype, so seeing it with the actual 250 camera flashes at the final shoot was spectacular! While I usually output video to projectors, PDPs, and other so-called displays, controlling and outputting to devices like this gave me an unprecedented sensation—I was in a state of personal excitement.

During filming, I didn’t know how things would develop afterward, but seeing the completed music video package and web presentation that perfectly leveraged each medium, I was reminded once again of how amazing the PARTY team is.

On YouTube, you can watch the full HD video of Androp’s “Bright Siren” music video and its making-of footage, so please take a look. Also, the web presentation has an interesting approach, so please check that out as well.

I’m grateful to everyone at PARTY and IMGSRC for giving me this opportunity.

I received help from more people than I can mention here, so I’d like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone involved in the production. Thank you very much.
